Pampanga’s rich culinary heritage is a source of immense pride for its residents. The province’s recipes, handed down through generations, are considered a form of art. This dedication to culinary excellence ensures that every dish prepared in Pampanga is truly special.
Despite the rising popularity of international cuisines and fast-food chains, Pampanga’s homegrown restaurants have maintained their prominence by preserving and celebrating traditional recipes. To further this commitment, the local government has devised a creative way to honor and promote these culinary traditions.
In October, Mexico, Pampanga will host its first Kusinero’t Kusinerang Kapampangan cook-off, featuring the renowned Atching Lilian Borromeo. This event aims to revive forgotten recipes and showcase the rich culture of Mexico, Pampanga. Open to families residing in Mexico, the competition allows teams of up to three members to participate. The cook-off will take place at SM City Pampanga, with semi-finals on October 2, 2017, and the grand finals on October 9, 2017.
Participants will compete for cash prizes and gift packs, with the third-place winner receiving 5,000 Pesos, the second-place winner taking home 7,000 Pesos, and the grand winner earning 10,000 Pesos along with a trip for three to Kalibo, Aklan.
